Art Camps Descriptions:
Medieval times: Castles, knights, princess & dragons. Students will explore medieval times through a fun filled art camp that utilizes 3-D drawing, Sculpture, jewelry, painting, music and costumes! Students will learn about medieval times and be inspired to enter this world for the week. Students will use Tempera Paint, Water color Paint, Clay, Pencil & Charcoal, oil pastels, construction paper, markers & Crayons as well as different types of paper for their compositions, sculptures, prints and costumes.
Fun With Impressionism! Students will travel back to the 19th Century art movement in France! Students will learn to use visible brush strokes to create their compositions and how to depict light and its changing qualities. We will review work by Mary Cassatt, Paul Cezanne, Edgar Degas, Eduard Manet, Claude Monet, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Books and music will be integrated to provide additional inspiration and information. Students will use Pencil, Tempera paint, watercolor paint, oil pastels, crayons and markers in this camp.
Drawing and Painting Ocean Creatures Children will explore the undersea world through a few short stories that will help us immerse ourselves in that world. Then, using different mediums, we'll draw and paint the personages that we encountered in our stories, bringing them to life. Enhancing your child’s imagination, each day will take us to another underwater experience, while encouraging personal expression
Art Sampler, Drawing, Painting, Collage and more! This class is a fun way to experience different art materials and techniques. We'll create wonderful projects by drawing, painting, modeling with clay and making collages.
Preparing a cartoon story. Would you like to learn how to draw realistically? Are you good at drawing but feel like there is something missing? This camp is good for beginners and intermediate artists. Learn how to “see” through proven exercises. Students will learn about contour line, negative spaces, shadows and light among others.
Drawing and Painting Animals. Do you love animals? Come and learn how to draw and paint different wild, domestic and fantasy animals. We will start from a simplified cartooning animal to end with more realistic versions. We will use different media like charcoal, markers, pastels and watercolor.
Make your drawings look 3D. Do you want to discover the tricks that make a drawing look 3D? Would you like your drawings to seem that they are popping out the page? This camp is for you! In this camp you will learn how to use some techniques like foreshortening, shading, shadow, and others that will make your drawing look amazingly 3D. We will be working with markers, oil pastels and soft pastels.
Life Drawing for teens. This camp is only for serious young artist. We will follow the famous method of K. Nicolaides “The Natural way to draw” to learn to draw the human figure from a living model. We will be using charcoal, lithographic crayon, carbon pencils and watercolor. The male and female models will be wearing bathing-suits.
Space: projects full of spaceships, aliens & planets. Children will explore outer space in this camp that incorporates drawing and painting, sculpture, murals and 3-D compositions! Exploration of planets and outer space will provide students with information and inspire them to create drawings, paintings and sculptures to enhance imagination and ability. Students will use many mediums in this camp including, Tempera paint, Watercolor paint, Oil pastels, clay and charcoal.
Drawing 101. Have you always wanted to learn how to draw but, were afraid to make a mistake? Then this class is for you. This camp is good for beginner artists, although intermediate level artists can sharpen their skills as well. Learn how to “see” through proven exercises. Exploring Art over the Ages! Students will learn about Art History and different art techniques including Cave Art, Printmaking, Impressionism, Expressionism, Abstract Art, and Realism. Students will be provided with works of art from artists such as Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse, Seurat, Kandinsky, Degas, Pollock, Miro, and other artists that influenced Art Today. We will create compositions using these artists as our inspiration!
We will use Tempera, Watercolor, Pencil, Markers, Oil Pastels, Crayons, Stamps, charcoal to come up with Masterpieces that will never be forgotten.
Dreamscapes: Create the City of your Dreams!
Design and create a unique city using line drawing and watercolor, where the only limitations are that of your own imagination. Draw inspiration from the world around you and disregard all laws of nature to fashion a city of pure abstraction.
