o Sea Creatures . Children will explore the undersea world through a few short stories that will help us immerse ourselves in that world. Then, using different mediums we'll draw and paint the personages that we encountered in our stories, bringing them to life. Enhancing your child’s imagination, each day will take us to another underwater experience, while encouraging personal expression.

o The Birds and the Beasts. Students will learn valuable artistic skills as they create both 2-D and 3-D versions of real and imagined birds and beasts. Some projects will be geared towards developing realistic rendering skills, while others will emphasize the use of one's imagination as kids create their own unique creatures. We will work in pencil, crayon, pastel, watercolor and clay.
Week Jul. 5 - Jul. 9 9:00 - 12:00 PM Teacher: Adria McCuaig $150 + $10 material fee.
o Bugs Galore! Dragonflies, bumblebees, ladybugs and more. Children will start out by learning to do realistic drawings of the bugs that intrique them. They will then move on to making a variety of 3-D versions of our creepy crawling friends, using paper, collage, clay and paper mache.

o Discovering Watercolor. In this camp, the children will learn the basic techniques of watercolor painting. Each class the students will have a project where they will express their artistic spirit using color, washes and textures.

o Drawing animals. This camp will concentrate in drawing and painting animals. We will start from a simplified-cartooning animal, to end with more realistic versions of the animals. We will use, pencil, charcoal, watercolors and ink to create portraits of wild, fantasy and domestic animals.

o Making your drawings look 3D. In this camp, the children will learn the basic techniques to make their drawings look 3D. The surprise of seeing how easy something can look 3D versus flat has amazed my students, most of them describe the experience as “creepy†when they feel they drawing is popping up from the page. The students will be using pencil and markers.

o Drawing portraits in pencil. In this camp the student will learn the proportions of head and face and will be able to work in the portraits of family and friends.

o Drawing with the right side of the brain. In his basic drawing camp, the student will learn how to “see†through proved exercises. Through this method by Dr. Betty Edwards, the students will learn about contour line, negative spaces, perspective, shadows and light, feeling at the end confident to draw realistically.
